Post subject: strange program behaviour
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>win2000>termserv>clients (more info?)

We recently developed a new vb .net application and have it installed on our
windows 2000 and win2K3 terminal servers.

We still have some older Win98 SE computers that are strictly being used for
term server connections. I am running RDP 5.1 (might be 5.2 - can't remember
just off hand) on them.

On one or two of these older Win98 machines, there is some strange behaviour
when running this new vb app that does not happen when running it through a
term server connection on some of the newer PC's... (some running Win98 and
others XP)

Could this be related to the RDP client installed on the Win98 SE machine ?-
or more likely would it be related to the physical display adapter installed
on the Win98 machine? This is the first time I have seen this type of
strange behaviour running an app via RDP.

PS, by strange behaviour I am referring to the screen not refreshing
properly when told to by the app and things like that... It is driving the
user nuts.

WHat should I be doing? Replace the display adapter, upgrade the adapters
drivers (if available) ? Is there a newer version of RDP that may fix the
problems etc.. etc...

Thanks, Brad
