Post subject: server 2008 joined to domain
We recently purchased 20 thin clients from Devon IT, along with a new HP server that runs Windows Server 2008 Enterprise. We have a separate box also set up with Server 2008 as the domain controller, with dhcp and dns. We have a third box (older server) running Server 2003 for file/print serving. When we joined the new terminal server to the new domain, the thin clients no longer can connect to terminal services. Remote desktop connection does not work either. We think there is a misconfiguration on the terminal server. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

There have been some reports about thin clients not being able to connect to a 2008 TS, because they usually still run rdp client 5.x.
So please do all of your initial testing from an XP or Vista client with rdp client 6.1, to verify that the 2008 TS is allowing incoming rdp traffic at all. Once you've come that far, test the thin clients.

You don't write in which way the conection fails. Do you get an error message? Is there anything in the EventLog on the TS?
Can you connect to the TS from the console of the server itself, with
mstsc /v:localhost ?
Is the server listening on port 3389? Check with netstat -an
Can you connect when you use the IP address of the server in stead of the name? If so, you have a DNS problem.
