Post subject: different registry keys to different users in TS

Hi all,

I rolled out a software which reads registry keys from HKLM to know where the SQL server is, which database to use along with user name and password. Users will access the program via terminal sessions from different locations.

Therefore i have created individual database for each location. my question is how to direct user or terminal session to point to the location specific database.

is there a way that each session can have its own set of registry keys rather than copying from the terminal server, so that users can connect to their individual location specific database.

I will appreciate the help and response

Thank you

This is done automatically when you put the server into install mode before installing applications.
All changes to the HKLM area during software installation are monitored and copied to the shadow area in the registry. Then, when a user logs on, their profile is compared with the timestamp on the shadow area, and when there are newer entries, each user get his/her own private copy of the registry keys in HKCU.
