Post subject: Citrix reboots flaky?
I've experienced this issue and have seen it reported elsewhere as well.

When Citrix servers are scheduled for nightly reboots through the Citrix Management Console, several times every week a few servers fail to complete the reboot process and users are unable to login. The servers are pingable, however it appears the netlogon service does not start in at least some of the instances, possibly all.

It's been recommended to schedule the reboots using a tsshutdn command instead.

Can anyone offer an educated opinion on why this happens and if the recommendation is appropriate?

We also have this flaky reboot issue but just located the article above and have not had a chance to test it yet. Our servers reboot once a week so it will be Saturday evening before I know how this works.
