Post subject: Cannot connect to new License server
Archived from groups: alt>os>citrix (more info?)

Hello NG

I am trying to use a new Citrix License server for my Citrix PS4
Enterprise farm, and testing this new license server on one test PS4
server.

The new License server is Lic1.london.co.uk
The test server is Server1.manchester.co.uk

As you can see, they are in different domains, but in the same farm.

All other servers in the farm use the default farm setting for their
license server, so they are unaffected and are running smoothly.

The problem is, when I untick 'use farm settings for license server'
on Server1 and enter the name of Lic1 (I have tried IP address, with
FQDN, without FQDN etc), I cannot log onto the test application I have
published. I recv a message saying I must have Terminal Server User
Acess permissions on this computer.

There are also Event ID 9027 erros in the Event Log;

"Error 15394212 received while obtaining a license for a MetaFrame
client connection. The license request has been rejected."

And 9017;

"This computer running MetaFrame Presentation Server will now stop
accepting connections. This server is no longer in or could not enter
a licensing grace period."

I can ping the Lic1 fine, and it has more than enough licenses.

If I log onto the License Manager on Lic1, the name of the Licensing
Server is listed as "Lic1" - no FQDN.

One thing I do notice however is this; the FQDN of Lic1 is
Lic1.london.co.uk and the IP 192.168.10.1

However, on Server1 if I do

nslookup 192.168.10.1
>> Lic1.liverpool.co.uk

So there PTR record seems to be registered incorrectly within our DNS
system, would this make a difference to Citrix however?

On Server1, if I "telnet Lic1 27000" at the command prompt, then I go
to a completely blank black DOS screen, so I assume this works?

Any ideas on how to solve this?

Thanks in advance!
