Post subject: Citrix and WordPerfect

I am running into a problem enumerating printers inside a Word Perfect ICA session. We are using PS 4.0 and publishing an application of WP X3. All printers are auto created for the session without any problems and show up in other applications when we utilize session sharing. When we go to WP and do a file print we only have a few of the user’s created printers. There doesn’t seem to be a pattern as to which ones show up in WP. Does anyone have any suggestions on how we should go about troubleshooting the issue or has anyone run into this before. We are using Citrix UPD for all printers.

are there any errors in the event logs about printer auto-creation failing? If so, the error should tell you why, most likely cause is printer driver imcompatibility or mapping failure. Debug that and you should be on your way.

The printers are being autocreated fine and are present on the Citrix server and from other applications.

I assume that you allow the application to Start without waiting for printers to be created.
Have you tried (for test purposes) to wait for printers to be created prior to the application being started?

You have assumed correctly and no I haven't tried that yet. I will test that out and report back the results.

This seems to be working great. I am going to expand my test group to include a lot of the heavy users and see if this resolves their problems. Thaks for your help.
