Users are complaining that they are getting kicked off our TS, a message
pops up, I think it's the RDP client, but it says, The connection has
been lost - Attempting to Reconnect Session.

The session reconnects, and the user is back where at the screen where
they lost connection.

What is causing lost connections?
Should we be tweaking something on the TS?
Like this, HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal
Server\WinStations\RDP-Tcp\KeepAliveTimeout?

Are these users coming in over a WAN connection?
The cause of the loss of connectivity can be anything, and it's
most likely lying ouside the TS.
Changing the KeepAlive mechanism only ensures that your server
faster detects that the connection is lost and puts the session in
a disconnected state, but that seems already to work properly,
since your users can auto-reconnect.

You'd better post in a network newsgroup, and/or use NetMon or a
continuous ping (ping -t) to get some idea of how many packets are
lost and then take the issue up with your network provider.

They are coming over the Internet via Cisco VPN client.

Would I still NetMon or Ping -t?

When the rdp connection is down, is the whole VPN connection down
also?
Can users still connect to other resources on your network, like
shared folders, when the rdp session is disconnected?

The VPN connection stays connected, just the session drops and then
reconnects.

Are they disconnected after some minutes of idle time, or also when
they are actively working (typing, moving the mouse)?
