Post subject: Terminal Server in DMZ

A bit unusual of an request, but hear me out...

I need to place a TS in the DMZ so _internal_ clients can RDP to the box and check the status/health of the applications within the DMZ. The catch is the licensing server is on the internal network along with the clients. The internal network and DMZ segments are obviously different 2003 functional domains.

I've exported a virtual machine 2003 TS that was previously connected to the internal domain and was exchanging licenses with the license server. This was placed in the DMZ and is accepting more than the default 3 RDP connections.

My question is:

1. Is there an expiration time where this server will decline RDP requests after the 3 have been fulfilled?
2. Since this machine was previously connected to the license server are the CALS somehow cached on the box to the point where it will never need to be updated again?
3. Is it safe to say we can leave this box in the DMZ and a new LS will not be needed?

Please advise...

Cheers,

DC
