Let me preface this by saying I'm not a Citrix guy - I have a lot of
experience with Terminal Server, but no Citrix.
Anyway, trying to help out a customer of mine. They have a custom
developed application they use and sell. We run it in-house on a
Terminal Server with no problem, though it was never really developed
for TS use.
A potential customer of their's is demo'ing the software, and they're
trying to run it in Citrix. They login as a domain admin, disable
logins, set the system to install mode and install. Reboot, verify
they're in execute mode, and try to run. They get a runtime error
message, which is no help (Runtime error 3 at 00597EA5) Here's the
catch - if they run the app in install mode, it works fine. They've
performed all of these actions as a domain admin to no avail.
My customer went back to the developer of the app and they haven't
been helpful at all - stated it wasn't designed for a Terminal Server
environment and that's that.
So wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions. I did some research
to see exactly what happens when you throw a TS/Citrix box in install
mode (http://technet2.microsoft.com/windowsserver2008/en/library/
6202f024-8cf5-411e-89b1-ee37ff46499d1033.mspx?mfr=true) Didn't help
much - the app doesn't use any INI files and the registry keys it
writes aren't critical.
Any suggestions?
