Hi,
I am looking for a platform independent solution for having Internet Explorer running on different systems for our soon to be bought ERP software solution. We think of a MS 2008 Terminal Server with a published IE app. But then to get this app to open on say Linux, MAC OS, BSD seems to be a real challenge. I have looked into 2X ApplicationServer with its own client, but they do not support 2008 (yet). Basically it boils down to running .RAP files on Linux/MAC/BSD I think. With the 'normal' RDP full desktop session we still need to lock down everything with policies, registry settings and more. Moreover we do not intend to run AD as we are a Unix company. Does someone have good information for me to progress further?

Just use the rdp clients for these platforms.
You have to lock down the server with GPOs and NTFS permissions anyway, because giving a user permission to run a published application in 2008 TS also gives the user permission to connect to the full desktop.
Note that even from a RemoteApp there are ways of "escaping" to a full
desktop.
