Post subject: PDF Printer problems

We have been running a Terminal Server with QuickBooks 2008. We have different types of users, Adminstrators and Users. If a "User" tries to do a Bank Rec, the PDF printer (built into QuickBooks) creates a PDF file. The Printer Jams and the session that the "User" was working on freezes. The "User" logs out and opens QuickBooks again and everything is back to normal. The "QuickBooks PDF Converter" printer shows an error and one document trying to print. As an administrator I cancel the document and all is back to normal.

If a Power User or Administrator does the same bank rec, it is fine. I would rather not give everyone using the system "Power User" Access because they can see all the printers attached to the system. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there a way of limiting how many printers a Power User can see(preferably just there own)?

Any Suggestions would be appreciated. This is my first question on this dicussion board so I hope I've explained issue well enough.

Thanks

No, you cannot limit the number of printers which are seen by Power Users. And I would not recommend going down this route, since it would enable all users to completely wipe your server.

You'd better ask this on a forum on the Intuit website. And have you searched their KnowledgeBase? Here's the search result for "QuickBooks PDF Converter", gives some pretty useful links. You might want to try the first one, i.e. reinstalling the PDF Converter.
