Windows 2003 SP2 or Sp1. Only windows 2003 server is running.

Whenever I reboot the server, I sometimes can't RDP to the server from my workstation. If I walk over to the server and login locally, I see that the terminal service is running and listening on port 3389. This happens only occasionally. If I reboot the server second time, I can RDP from workstation.

What could be problem?

Thanks

Yes, I reboot the server within the TS connection. I use the /console switch randomly. I will apply the hotfix in the KB.

I just rebooted a server at work from my home tonight before reading this reply. I can't RDP to it now but can ping and access all the services on that server fine. I will have to reboot it again first thing in the morning tomorrow.

What's the proper why to reboot the server from within the TS connection?

Thank you for your reply. Hopefully this patch fixes the problem.

After applting the hotfix, just reboot from the Start Menu.
I've applied it to all of my 2003 servers, and it fixed the problem.
Before the hotfix, I experienced this problem around 1 out of every 3 reboots.
