Post subject: TS and application server question

Is it good practice to configured one beefed up server as an application/TS server? For example, I have an application that local and remote users need to access. Is it possible (or good practice) to install TS and the network application on one physical server for both local users and remote users? The local users would not use a TS session, only the remote users would. I seem to get conflicting advice as to this; some tell me that I need two seperate servers (TS and application) regardless of the loca/remote users. Others just say, as long as the server is powerful enough, install the application on the TS server and let the remote users connect via a TS session and the local users would connect normally to the application over the network (withou a TS session).

My current breakdown of users:

Total local users: 60
Total remote users: 30
