Post subject: Terminal Services auto-reconnect

Configuration:

* 4 x Windows 2003 r2 Terminal Servers load balanced using Microsoft NLB & Session Directory

* NLB Virtual IP has a 1 to 1 NAT through a pix firewall to the external IP

* Servers are set within terminal services to automatically attempt to reconnect if their session drops

Issue:

* When internal clients sessions drop they reconnect promptly

* When external clients sessions drop they do not automatically reconnect. Users have to stop the auto-reconnection process and reconnect manually.

Question:

Does anyone have any idea what can be preventing the reconnects or know of a way to test without moving environment outside of the firewall? Does anyone know how the reconnect process works or any ports or protocols that might be used to reestablish the session? I would greatly appreciate any assistance.
