Post subject: SLOW LOGOFF on 2003 TS running on VM

Hi there,
we have recently changed VM host to a new provider.
We have been hit with a slow logoff process for all/most of the users. This only happens when we start an application (eg. Word) at startup. But when we login without opening any application at the startup, it takes only few seconds to logout.

We noticed these two process running while its taking its time to logout userinit.exe & winlogon.exe. Logout time varies and it can take 5-10 minutes or more. When we end process userinit.exe from Task Manager the session logs off instantly.

We have installed UPHClean & applied patch described in MS Kb article 944984.

OS: Win 2003 Standard SP2
Symantec EndPoint 11.0

we have also tried disabling Symantec, but no change.

This is very cruicial for us as none of our users see a start bar when they login, they only have access to a database which opens at startup.

Any suggestions or fix will be very helpful.

Thank you
