Post subject: Running an EXE file as a user on MS Terminal Server 2003

Hi

We are testing Adobe Captivate here, which is used to create step by step video training sessions. Once you have created the 'video' it can be saved as a exe file. We would like users using Terminal server to be able to view videos generated in this way however whenever users click on the exe file nothing happens. It seems to relate to the local security policy because if I add the user in the Local Administrators group the video will play. Obviously I don't want to do that for all users however I cannot locate the specific security restriction which stops the video playing. Does anyone have any ideas where it will be?

Thanks

Chris

Check this FAQ:

My application runs fine for Administrators, but not for normal users

Curious question: how is the performance when you look at these videos in a TS session? TS was never meant for streaming video and I would expect the performance to be unsatisfactory, to use an understatement.

Hi Vera,

Thanks for the reply. The 'video' is more like a powerpoint presentation, in that it is basically screen shots. It seems to run OK on TS. We can also save the file in flash format so I might try that.

Thanks

Chris
