Post subject: Remote computer drives not available...
Archived from groups: alt>os>citrix (more info?)

I'm currently having an issue where when logged into Citrix Server (Desktop
connection) my local drives are not available.

The local drives show-up, in Windows Explorer - remapped as C$ on Client
(VSmile, D$ on Client (DSmile, etc. However, when I try to access a local drive I
get a message stating "V: is not accessible. Access denied"

The local computer OS is Windows XP (service pack 3).

The host Citrix Server version is 10.00.52110. The local client is the same
version.

This particular problem only started occurring with a recent, new install of
Citrix Server that utilizes the Web Interface to login. Other (2) Citrix
Servers at the same location have always worked, and still do, fine -- but
those 2 installations are not using the Web Interface to login.

The Citrix administrators have verified that drive mappings are enabled on
the server and scripts are properly running to initiate the mappings, but
they also cannot find the reason why my local drives cannot be accessed.

Any help/advice is appreciated.

thank you

Blaise

Is it happening from just your workstation? When you first logged
into the server did you get a Citrix security warning that Citrix was
requesting access to local resources - There are two radio buttons to
check - one for the level of access and one as to whether or not you
want the setting permanent or to be prompted each time. Regardless,
look for in your profile folder (c:\documents & settings\{username}
\application data\icaclient) for webica.ini. Delete it, then log back
into the web interface and launch your application again. You should
get prompted - select "Full access" and "Never ask me again".

That worked (deleting the ini file). Thanks for the info...
