Distant users use TS on Windows 2008 to run Navision.
The installation of a printer (two instances of Olivetti d-Copy KX 300 for two trays) generated the following problem. The TS server is also a Windows Print Server.
Some users can not print any more from Navision, others still can. Not printing means no text is generated, only the table borders. Navision interacts with the default printer driver for the Navision print preview. The selection of the printer happens after the preview. Printing without first a preview does not work either. Printing from Word is still OK.
The following has been tried:
- remove and install new drivers for this printer (this Olivetti is basically a Kyocera)
- remove all drivers and all mentions of Olivetti / Kyocera from the registry
- change the default printer
- remove a user (via System Properties - Advanced - User Profiles) and recreate it via a new logon
- creating a brand new Windows users/Navision user
It seems that the print driver installlation infected some users, and not others, without any clue to why some were infected (perhaps those had an active TS session at that moment), or why.
It is not a Navision problem, because any Navision user can print from a non-infected TS session.
How is it possible that a brand new user inherits the bad settings? Is there anything wrong with the Default TS user? Can this user be reset or repaired?
Please help.
