Once in a while, one of the users logged in to my terminal server (running Windows Server 2003) is using the majority of the bandwidth, specifically upload. The result is that the Internet goes down to a crawl. This is usually unintentional and a couple of times in the past it had to do with email being stuck in the outbox and constantly sending. But each time I had to force everybody out and let one at a time in, in order to see what user was the culprit. This is absolutely not something I want to keep doing in an office with 30+ employees that needs their desktop in order to do their job.
I use a SmoothWall firewall in my network and it tracks bandwidth usage per IP. But since all terminal server users are using the same IP that originates from the server, it is impossible to know which one of the profiles currently logged in that is either uploading or downloading an abnormal amount. Therefore, it's very hard to troubleshoot.
Is there any way to track bandwidth usage per session/user on a terminal server, and also what that is using it (as in what software or protocol for that user).

Search, ask, and monitor your questions on the go with EE Mobile. ... that considerably more bandwidth needs to be allocated per user session.
