Post subject: Migrate from local profiles to roaming profiles
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windows>terminal_services (more info?)

Hi!

We have the need to migrate from local user profiles on a terminalserver to
roaming user profiles.
There are 1 existing terminalserver, and we have just set up 1 new (Citrix
farm).

I`ve tested on a pilot user, and did the following:
-Set a profilepath on the AD-user (Terminal services profile path)
-Logged on with that user on the old server and saw that the profile was
saved to the central location
-Logged on with that user to the new terminal server

I then noticed that the Taskbar/Start-menu was placed in the default
location at the bottom, on the old server it was placed at the right side.
Also, the Favourites-folder wasn`t roaming/migrated.
I then had a look at the size of the profile on the new server vs the old
server. 31 MB on the new server and 100 MB on the old server.

The following are redirected using folder redirection in GPO:
-Desktop
-Start-menu
-My documents
-Application data

What would be the best way to do this?
What could have gone wrong?
