Post subject: MS Terminal Services

Hi all,

We are using Microsoft Terminal Services on Windows 2003 server Standard Edition. SAS 9.2 (Business Analysis Software) server version is deployed on this server. There are about 7 to 9 users connect to this server from their Windows XP Desktops using native Remote Desktop connection . They work on SAS 9.2 software for their business analysis work.

Sometimes, many users suffer system hang when they will be working on the SAS , so during this situation, there is no other alternative rather than to restart the server . I have done my best to optimize Terminal Server but still users complain about sudden system freezes. This terminal server currently has 4 GB of RAM as it supports maximum of 4GB. I have also tried using /PAE switch in boot.ini file, but still it recognises 4GB of RAM. Server has 2 Intel xeon 3Ghz Processor

So, I am hereby requesting to guide me in the right direction on how can I still enhance the user experience while working on SAS 9.2 tool.

Is the server upgrade better option? We are using Dell Poweredge 1850 server.

Please do guide me.

Thanks
Sanjay
