Post subject: Huge Office Issue on our Terminal Server

Okay so last Friday on our Terminal Server for no reason (that I know of) all of a sudden when people would double click a word Document from their Desktop would not fully open word. Word would open but no document would open.

So I go into "Folder Options" navigate through there to DOC files and "Open" is bold. Verified it had the correct path in advanced and everything was good. So I hit Ok, and Ok again.

After I did this when I opened word documents I get the following errors:

The command cannot be performed because a dialog box is open

and also

Word experienced an error trying to open the file.

We do not use Norton A/V and there is nothing in the Office startup folders. The weirdest thing is if the document is moved to say c:\TempDocFolder... it opens with no problem and with no errors. The permissions are exactly the same and the home folder is stored locally for this user so it isn't an issue of the folder being on a remote machine.

I hope someone can help.
