Post subject: 2008 R2 - Printer Server

Hi all,

What's the best option to use?

Server : Windows 2008 R2 Remotes Desktop Services (64-bit)
Clients : WYSE Terminals

Currently the clients get printers from a Windows 2003 print server,
meaning they get their 2008 desktop sessions, then they install the printers from a windows 2003 print server

would it be more approapriate to create a new 2008 R2 Print Server,
and let the clients install print drivers from there.

We are having many printer issues,
my feeling is like in citrix env, if there's not an exact driver match between client and server, then the printer will not be mapped in session
I checked and our Print Devices, (ApeosPort-II) 's do have 2008 64 bit drivers.

My thinking is, the users are booting / or getting their desktop sessions from a Windows 2008 R2 Remote Desktop server, so having a 2008 print server, with 2008 pcl drivers would be the ideal solution.

Any advise would be appreciated - i don't really have a test env, and am a bit scared to install new untested drivers in production server.
